Professor Roy Whistler passed away at home on 7 February, a few weeks short of his 98th birthday. On behalf of the ICS2010 committee, I express our deepest condolences at his passing.

ICS2010 drew to a successful close on August 6, 2010. We were delighted to have welcomed as many as 939 attendees (296 students) from 38 countries at this year′s conference. On behalf of the organizing committee, we wish to thank all participants, especially the speakers and poster presenters, for their contributions to an exciting symposium. The next ICS will be held in Madrid, Spain, from July 22 to 27, 2012. We look forward to seeing you again in 2012, if not earlier.
